Contact From And To Inmates

For inmates, contact with family and friends is essential.

How can an inmate contact BailCo while in jail?

If you or a loved one is incarcerated in one of the Connecticut Correctional facilities and would like to call BailCo Bail Bonds, go right ahead; it's as easy as dialing 800-422-4526! Our number is toll free and does not need to be on the inmate's "allowed" list of numbers. Our agents always accept calls, however, due to the way the Securus Technologies system works you may need to try a few times.

I keep getting calls from an inmate but I can't connect!

Family and friends that wish to accept calls directly from inmates must set up an account with Securus Technologies at, and the inmate must have the number on their approved number list. If you have been receiving calls from a Connecticut Correctional facility but cannot connect to them, it is most likely because you do not have an account. This system is very expensive to use. If you can not afford to use Securus, a good alternative is sending a letter. The inmate will also be able to make a few quick calls from their counselor's office, but that may take a little time to arrange.

Sending Mail To Connecticut Inmates

Connecticut inmates may send and receive as many letters as they want. These letters can be from anyone, but the inmate must pay for their own postage. There are a few exceptions; the victims, other inmates, or recently paroled inmates may not send letters.

A letter may not seem all that exciting to those of us outside jail. However, to the inmate they are very important; mail is one of the only things they have to look forward to. So, if you need help writing to an inmate let us know and our staff will help you.

You can even send the inmate 4"x6" photos! There are some restrictions, however; the photos may not be instant or Polaroids, and they must not contain nudity or other sexual content, gang symbols, or tattoos.

The address must be sent in exactly this format:

Inmate Name, ID Number

Facility Name

P.O. Box or Street Address

City, State, ZIP Code

You can even send books, newspapers and magazines to Connecticut inmates!

Do not send any books, newspapers or magazines that contain nudity, sexual material, maps or anything that may comprise the correctional facility. the books must be new, paperback and come directly from a source such as Amazon, but no third party resellers.

We at BailCo have an inmate book donation program. If you have a loved one you'd like to send a book to, please send us an email to

Inmates could use some spending money.

They have something like a bank account called an inmate trust fund. This allows them to purchase items from the commissary, which they will need if you want them to send letters in return. To send money to an inmate, follow this link:
